Validity of the VO2 Master Pro device for maximal oxygen consumption prediction and the measurement of resting metabolism
Goldschmidt, Tobiáš ; Nohel, Michal (referee) ; Chlíbková, Daniela (advisor)
Measurements of maximal oxygen uptake and resting metabolic rate are one of the most important things in testing athletes and madical patients. For these measurements are used breath analyzers. These analyzers are usually non-portable costly devices. VO2 Master Pro is on the other hand portable breath analyzer with much lower prize. It is biggest disadvantage is that it contains only O2 sensor and not CO2 sensor as madically aproved devices. Aim of this study is to determinate validity and difference of measurements between VO2 Master Pro and reference device for measuring maximal oxygen uptake and resting metabolic rate. Difference for measuring maximal oxygen uptake was 4,15 ± 4,41 %. For measuring of resting metabolic rate difference was 41,20 ± 11,44 %. For measuring of maximal oxygen uptake is VO2 Master Pro valid but for measuring of resting metabolic rate it is not. It was also confirmed, that size of measured value have non-linear corelation with size of difference in measuring maximal oxygen uptake.

Using wearables to monitor physical activity
Mádlová, Zdenka ; Větrovský, Tomáš (advisor) ; Omcirk, Dan (referee)
Title: Using wearables to monitor physical activity Objectives: The aim of this study is to assess the validity of the Fitbit Charge 5 compared to the ActiGraph wGT3x-BT for the assessment of physical activity (steps, time spent in moderate physical activity, vigorous physical activity and moderate to vigorous physical activity) in adults. Methods: The Fitbit Charge 5 commercial physical activity monitor was compared to the ActiGraph wGT3x-BT under daily living conditions. Healthy adults (n=32) wore both devices in a 7-day field study. Data were analyzed based on days for steps, minutes of moderate physical activity, minutes of vigorous physical activity and minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity. Pearson's correlation coefficient and Bland-Altman plot were used to assess the correlation between the Fitbit Charge 5 device and the criterion. Mean percentage error (MPE) and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) were calculated to assess differences. Results: The Fitbit Charge 5 had a very strong correlation (r = 0,94; 95% CI 0,92- 0,96) on the step measurement with criterion. The MAPE value was 23%. A weak correlation with respect to the criterion was demonstrated for the measured physical activity of moderate intensity (r = 0,33; 95% CI 0,27- 0,39). For vigorous physical activity a...
Validation of the Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire for children aged 6 -10 years in the Czech Republic
Vlasáková, Nikol ; Čepička, Ladislav (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Hana (referee) ; Mess, Filip (referee)
Problem: A specific developmental disorder of motor function affects up to one in 12 people. Neither the prevalence of DCD nor its diagnosis is completely uniform. According to some authors, even given the difficulty of existing tests and test batteries, a "gold standard" for diagnosing DCD is still being sought that would most effectively diagnose its prevalence. In Canada, a standardized screening method, the Developmental Coordination Disorder Questionnaire (DCDQ), has been developed as an auxiliary diagnostic tool to help detect DCD in children. It is an exploratory method that uses a questionnaire technique designed primarily for parents and teachers of children to diagnose the prevalence of this disorder. We believe that by using the DCDQ questionnaire, which according to Schoemaker is a "coarse screen" in identifying children with DCD, we will single out children with DCD and suspected DCD. Studies emphasize the importance of early identification of children with developmental coordination disorder (DCD), not only as a prevention of secondary academic, emotional, and social manifestations of the disorder. The questionnaire allows screening of children with motor difficulties. The DCDQ has not been validated in the Czech Republic and this is the aim of this study so that it can be used for the...
